Templates

The most important thing you need to know about templates, is that we can design them for you, for free.

CleverCat for Wix has a built-in drag-and-drop Template Editor, and you can create as many templates as you need, but some users may find this aspect of the application challenging as it requires a slightly more artistic mindset.

Template Types

There are two types of templates, pictured below. The one on the left is a Grid Template, where the Product Layouts are uniform in size and Shape. The Product Layouts in the Dynamic Template on the right can change height to fit the data.
In this example, the Dynamic products have a Data Table--where many products are represented by a single photo, but this style can also be used where the amount of descriptive text varies between products.

Print, Phone, or Tablet

PDFs are not just for printing. Templates can be designed with page sizes that suit phones or tablets.

For example, most phones have an Aspect Ratio of about 16:9. An 8.5" x 11" Letter-size piece of paper has an Aspect Ratio of 16:11.6, which is noticeably wider. On a phone screen, that extra width results in wasted space above and below the page.

In this example, the page has been resized to 5" x 2.8", which nearly fills the screen on most phones.

On paper, you'd normally have a grid of multiple items. But for a phone the 1x1 Layout shown here results in an on-line or off-line, scrollable catalog that's much faster than any webpage.
